I am new to the blogging community but, as my family tree has grown, I decided that this is the best way to share my findings and make new connections.
I have been interested in genealogy in about 30 years and have worked on it off and on during that time.

Meetings and Classes

Since not everyone interested in genealogy is on Facebook, I decided to put my classes and events here as well.
For people in the Charles Town, WV area, we have a local group that meets monthly on the second Saturday of each month. We call ourselves CHAT (Charles Town Ancestor Trackers) and we meet in the Jefferson County Commission meeting room on the lower level of the Charles Town Library. It is in the same area as the Jefferson County Museum.
Our next meeting will be Saturday, September 8th at 10:00 AM. We welcome new researchers and people interested in getting started.

I will be teaching some genealogy classes in Martinsburg this Fall. The first, for beginners, will be Wednesday, Sept. 19th & 26th from 7-9 PM at the Adult Learning Center. The second one, a continuation and for people who have already started but want more ideas, will be Wednesday, Dec. 12th & 19th from 7-9 PM.  For details and to register, go to  page 12 of the class brochure:  Berkeley County Class Brochure
