Welcome!

I am new to the blogging community but, as my family tree has grown, I decided that this is the best way to share my findings and make new connections.
I have been interested in genealogy in about 30 years and have worked on it off and on during that time.

Welcome!

Hello fellow researchers! I have decided to join the blogging world and give this a try. I will be adding information on the surnames I am researching and some family stories, but it will take some time. Please feel free to leave a comment and/or suggestion.

  1. Hi Nancy,
    Welcome to the geneablogging world!
I notice the Barrows surname in your list? Are they from New England? If so, we may be cousins.
My 3xgreat grandmother was Rachel Barrowswho was born in Paris, Maine but she was descended from the Barrows of the Plymouth-Plympton-Carver area of Massachusetts.

  3. Bill,
Yes, my Barrows line is from NE. Was your Rachel Barrows the daughter of David Barrows and Rachel Parker?

  5. Nancy, I forgot to mention, I have mostly NE ancestors, and a number of Wilders.

  6. Barbara,
The Wilders in my husband's line were from Watertown, NY. His great-grandmother, Helen "Nellie" Wilder 1854-1894), married Henry Albert Gibbs (1850-1915). I have found that Helen's father was David, but that is about all I know.
Are any of those names familiar?

  7. Nancy, my Wilders were before that time, in MA and NH, but your line is poss. a branch of it. Maybe see my blog, and click on Surnames: Wilder, my first few generations are listed as #3.

  8. Nancy,
She was the daughter of Asa Barrows and Content Benson who were originally from Plymouth Ma but moved up to Oxford County Maine. The line goes back to John Barrows or Barros who died in Plymouth Ma in Feb of 1691 or 1692.
